Grand Geneva Resort & Spa, the award-winning AAA Four-Diamond resort owned and managed by Marcus Hotels & Resorts, recently announced the appointment of Sara Schmitz as the property’s director of marketing. In her new role, Schmitz will oversee the marketing, communications and public relations efforts for the 1,300 acre all-season resort, including the spa, two award-winning golf courses, three restaurants and new luxury villas, as well as family favorite Timber Ridge Lodge & Waterpark.
Schmitz brings more than 17 years of experience providing strategic marketing, public relations and crisis communication counsel to Fortune 500 companies, including Zoetis, Altria Group, Johnson Controls and Marshall & Ilsley Corporation. As an established leader in the hospitality industry, she most recently served as the marketing director of The Abbey Resort & Avani Spa for four years located in Fontana on Geneva Lake. Schmitz is a graduate of Michigan State University.
