Onalaska: It’s Naturally the Place to Meet!
Onalaska is conveniently located just off I-90 between Chicago and the Twin Cities along the Great River Road National Scenic Byway, just one mile from La Crosse.
Lake Onalaska and the Mississippi River provide towering bluffs and beautiful waterscapes. More than 101 miles of interconnected state trails and several recreational areas offer boating, fishing, bicycling, birdwatching and relaxation to both residents and visitors. Onalaska’s 24-mile Great River State Trail is one of the most scenic bicycle rides in Wisconsin.
The exceptional natural resources are complemented by the largest shopping district in a nine-county region. Nearby La Crosse offers nightlife, cultural events, live performances and arts-related attractions. This combination of recreation and attractions makes Onalaska a favorite destination for vacations and weekend getaways.
Onalaska is also a popular location for meetings, conventions and group gatherings. The community boasts top-notch meeting and convention venues as well as a number of excellent lodging facilities to accommodate a wide variety of group sizes. Several locations, including the state-of-the-art OmniCenter, provide numerous options for meeting planners.
The versatile Onalaska OmniCenter derives its name from the Latin word “Omnis” meaning “universal or of many things.” Anyone visiting the OmniCenter will find it an ideal location for business meetings, seminars, conferences, trade shows and gatherings of all types.
The modern and attractive OmniCenter is located in the middle of Onalaska’s Van Riper Park. The facility consists of two arenas totaling more than 50,000 square feet, which can be divided to support smaller events. Four conference rooms total more than 5,100 square feet of space that can be configured in a variety of ways. The OmniCenter also has full kitchen facilities and a large outdoor picnic shelter. The OmniCenter is handicapped accessible and offers convenient free parking directly adjacent to the building.
During the months of March through October, it is not uncommon to find the OmniCenter hosting anything from a trade show, business seminar or wedding reception. Once November comes around, the arena converts to an ice rink for local skaters as well as recreational skaters. The new addition, which was completed in July 2007, allows for additional meeting/conference space during these months.
